LibraryFriends of the Library The Friends of the Library is an organization that helps raise money to support special projects for the Porterville Library and the Literacy Program. Donations of used books, movies and music can be given to the Friends of the Library for the monthly book sale. There is also a continuous book sale cart located just inside the lobby of the Porterville Public Library located at 41 W. Thurman Avenue. You can also become a member (active or inactive) of the Friends of the Library for as little as $5.00 a year. Family memberships are $10.00 a year and a lifetime membership can be purchased for a one time donation of $50.00 per person. Special discount memberships of $3.00 are available for Students and Seniors. Benefactor/Patron dues are $100.00, one time only. Members of the Friends of the Library will receive advanced notice of special book sales and may help out with the monthly book sort, which gives you first chance of any item in the book sale. Donations and memberships are also TAX DEDUCTIBLE! To become a member, just print out the membership application. Complete the application and mail it with a check or money order payable to "Friends of the Porterville Library". You can also bring your completed application to the front desk of the Porterville Library and pay your membership dues with cash, check or money order. Friends of the Library Book Sale
