A Message From Parks and Leisure Services

W elcome to the Parks and Leisure Services pages of the City of Porterville web site. We pride ourselves on programming quality and diverse leisure services, and providing public facilities for the enjoyment of all ages. 

The Porterville Parks & Leisure Services Department has responsibility for city facilities including; a golf course, a museum, 2 libraries, approximately 5 miles of trailways, an off-highway vehicle recreation park, and approximately 300 acres of park and sport field lands. The department maintains the indicated facilities, provides public library and literacy services, and presents to the community a variety of recreational sports, special events, and enrichment programs.

Our Mission is to provide excellent customer service to the citizens of the community, to enhance their quality of life by providing opportunities for the public enjoyment, inspiration, education, personal development, and cultural enrichment, and to provide clean, safe, well designed parks and facilities. It is our pleasure to extend programs, places, and services to you. We look forward to your participation and involvement.

Dive-In Theatre

Bring your float amd watch a movie from inside the refreshing City Pool! Gates open at 7:30pm. Fee is $5 for a family of 6 and $1 each additional family member

City Pool -

Rec Swim - 1pm to 5pm Weekends                                    General Admission: $1.00 children $2.00 adults

Water Aerobics - Mon/Wed/Fri 6am to 7am                 General Admission: $2 per class

Rap

Registration is ongoing for this afterschool program held at Summit Charter Academy, Oak Grove Elementary, and Burton Elementary. Space is limited. Ages: Kinder through 6th. Call for more info 791-7695.

Summer Day Camp

Children spend time indoors and outdoors as experienced staff lead campers in a wide variety of activities each day, including arts and crafts, games, skits, and songs, sports and swimming. Supervision provided daily throughout the summer from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. for ages 5-12 at the Heritage Center. Pay by the week or by the day if space permits.

The Porterville Library-

Story time - Every Tuesday @ 10am

Summer Reading Programs begin June 7th for all ages.

Crafts, & Karaoke every Thursday check calendar.
