The Rib Cook-Off is open to any and all amateur backyard BBQ enthusiasts! Enter as a team or as an individual. Participants will compete for their chance to win cash prizes or the People's Choice trophy!
1st place- $450
2nd Place- $350
3rd Place- $250
People's Choice Trophy
Entry fee is only $100*
10 racks of pork spare ribs will be provided. Cooker's are asked to bring all of their own seasonings, utensil's, BBQ, etc.
*Please be aware that each team will be required to pay an additional $53 fee for a temporary Health Department permit and must abide by the guidelines and requirements set forth by the Tulare County Environmental Health Services (TCEHS). United States Veteran's with proof of Honorable Discharge (DD214) and a completed Veteran's Exempt Form will not be required to pay the $53 fee.
Deadline to enter is September 26, 2014*.
*Due to the deadline requirements of the TCEHS, no late entries will be allowed.
Pioneer Days Queen Pageant:
Young women ages 13-20 years old are invited to compete in the Pioneer Days Queen Pageant. The Queen will be crowned 2014 Pioneer Days Queen and will be invited to make special appearances throughout the year.
The pageant will be held at 12pm during the event. Contestants will be judged on the following criteria:
40%- Ticket Sales
20%- Oral Presentation
*For the pageant, contestants will be asked to dress in western wear of their choice.
1st place- 2014 Pioneer Days Queen, crown, sash and 25% of your ticket sales.
2nd Place- 2014 Princess Sash and 20% of your ticket sales
3rd Place and all other contestants- Wins 15% of your ticket sales.
