Help your child learn how to swim the right way, right from the beginning! Due to COVID-19, we're offering a very condensed schedule.  Our structured classes are divided by age and skill level and taught by Red Cross certified instructors at the City Pool in Murry Park.  Students will improve swimming skills, build confidence in the water and learn personal safety.  


Register at the City Pool ONLY during normal pool hours.

Registration will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Early registration is advised.

Lesson Schedule & Pricing

  • Classes meet Monday- Friday in two-week sessions. 
  • $36 per session
  • Maximum of 10 per session

Course Descriptions

Tiny Tots I (Ages 1-4)

  • Parent must accompany child in water
  • Introduction to water
  • Submerse head in water

Tiny Tots II

  • Increased emphasis on applicable water skills
  • Front and back float
  • Front glide
  • Submerse face 5 seconds

Guppies (Ages 4 & up)

  • Introductory swimming skills.
  • Front float, back float, front glide, glide with kick
  • Correct rhythmic breathing
  • One width with kick board, on width crawl stroke


  • Beginning swimming skills
  • Glides
  • Turnovers
  • Submerse face 10 seconds
  • Kneeling and standing dive
  • 1 width with kick board and breathing
  • Crawl stroke techniques
  • 1 width elementary back stroke
  • 30 seconds tread water
  • 2 minute survival float


  • 2 widths elementary backstroke
  • 1 width breastroke
  • 30 seconds tread water
  • 10 yard underwater swim
  • Technique of all strokes including side stroke
  • Starts, flip-turns, butterfly and endurance swimming
  • Gain strength and speed through practice

Competitive Strokes

  • Pre-req of being able to swim entire length of pool and able to perform various strokes.
  • Learn to swim in a competitive setting. Includes starts, flip-turns, butterfly and endurance swimming.  Gain strength & speed through practice. 


  • Introduction to 1 meter springboard diving.  (11:00 am session only)
