Business Watch is an organization made up of businesses and Law Enforcement. Our goal is to help prevent crime and improve the economic climate in our community. Membership is comprised of business owners, and representatives from the Porterville Police Department, who meet and communicate with a single goal in mind - to make a difference.
We will hold bi-monthly meetings to help provide informational networking opportunities and educational speakers in the fields of public safety and crime prevention. We are currently in the process of compiling an email contact list of the Porterville retail community. Our hopes are that through email communication, we can advise businesses of criminal information that would assist them in identifying criminal suspects that are targeting businesses, as well as posting important warnings regarding crime trends that are affecting our local businesses, but also in hopes that the business community can assist the Porterville Police Department by reporting suspicious and criminal activity.
We have a very worthwhile mission and a committed team of representatives. We will provide resources and networking opportunities for our Business Watch members and give them the chance to meet their public officials on a one-on-one basis and talk about issues that are important to them. We invite you to bring issues to the table that concern you. Our goal of promoting public safety and crime prevention has universal appeal. At the end of the day, all of us will know that our concerns have been addressed. If you would like to participate in this program, and would like to be added to the “Business Watch” email list, please contact Jodi Harper at 559-782-7422 or by email: pd-dept@ci.porterville.ca.us.
