VACANT SEAT There is currently a vacant seat on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Citzens' Advisory and Housing Opportunity Committee. This is a one-year term from date of appointment. The CDBG Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council regarding program design, implementation, and assessment, to ensure that Porterville residents are given a full opportunity to particpate in the CDBG Program. This Committee consists of seven residents of the city, appointed annually by the City Council. The Citizen Participation Plan places particular emphasis on obtaining representation of low and moderate income persons residing in slum and blight areas, members of minority groups, the elderly, the disabled, and residents of areas where use of funds is proposed. Citizens and civic organizations are urged to make recommendations on allocation of the City's multi-purpose Community Development Block Grant since 1981/82. Full participation in the planning of the Consolidated Plan, Action Plans, Analysis of impediments and other CDBG required documents is expected. The committee attends special meetings and Public Hearings. Current dates for the spring of 2020 are:
