In an effort to keep the City of Porterville’s (COP) website current, relevant and with fresh content, the City will once again be hosting a photography contest in search of images that can be used primarily for the header and footer portions of the website; however, submitted images may be used in multiple areas of the site.
The City is requesting submittals from any photographer, whether professional, amateur, or hobbyist, portraying local life and scenery in Porterville and the surrounding area. Visa/MC Gift Cards will be awarded as prizes to the top 3 photos selected by the Website Committee. Gift card amounts are $75 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place and $25 for 3rd place. Just in time for last minute Holiday shopping, the City of Porterville hopes that the winners will use their gift cards at local businesses. Individuals whose photo has been selected will also receive space on the COP website for a short profile, with a link to their website, if applicable and appropriate.
The subject matter of the submittals is not limited; however, photos must portray something unique to Porterville, and be in good taste, as determined by the selection committee.
This is a great opportunity for aspiring photographers, artists and entrepreneurs to be published and get their name out in the local community. We encourage any and all submissions that meet the Website Photo Contest Guidelines and Rules.
Submittals may begin immediately and will be accepted until November 30, 2010. It is also possible the City will resume the contest at a later date if additional submittals are needed.
