NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

CONSIDERATION OF AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORTERVILLE ADDING ARTICLE X TO CHAPTER 18 OF THE PORTERVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING NUISANCES RELATED TO SHOPPING CARTS

Notice is hereby given, that a hearing will be held by the City Council of the City of Porterville on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 291 North Main Street, Porterville, California, at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard in order to consider adding Article X to Chapter 18 of the Porterville Municipal Code, an ordinance to reduce nuisance and blight related to shopping carts, and prohibiting the removal of shopping carts from the premises of the business that they serve.

On July 5, 2018, the Environmental Coordinator made a preliminary determination that the project has no potential to result in an environmental impact and is therefore not subject to review under the California Environmental Quality Act.

Copies of the draft ordinance are on file at 40 West Cleveland Avenue, Porterville, California in the Fire Department, and online at www.ci.porterville.ca.us . This notice is given in order to provide all interested parties an opportunity to present their views with respect to the proposed action. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Porterville City Council will hold a public hearing in the City Council Chambers at Porterville City Hall, 291 North Main Street, Porterville, California, on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 6:30 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard.

The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public input on, and provide information regarding the proposed Ordinance to establish by-district elections in five single-member districts in the City; and to adopt the map describing the boundaries and identifying number of the five City Council districts in the City.  All interested parties are invited to attend said hearing and express their views on this matter. 

The draft Ordinance and District Map with sequencing of elections are available for public inspection and copies are available for the cost of duplication at the Office of the City Clerk, 291 N. Main Street, Porterville, CA between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and on the City’s website at www.ci.porterville.ca.us.  The related staff report will be available at least three days prior to the above public hearing date at the same location.  Questions should be directed to the Office of City Clerk at 782-7466.

PUBLIC OPINION SOUGHT ON CITY COUNCIL ELECTION DISTRICTING MAPS

Notice is hereby given that the Porterville City Council will hold public hearings in the City Council Chambers at Porterville City Hall, 291 North Main Street, Porterville, California, on the following dates:

    • Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 6:30 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard; AND
    • Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 6:30 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard

The purpose of the public hearings is to receive public input on, and provide information regarding the proposed district maps of City Council election district boundaries and the sequencing of elections moving from at-large elections to district elections. 

In addition to the 2nd public hearing regarding proposed district maps and sequencing of election, on April 3, 2018, the City Council will also consider an Ordinance adopting district elections, election district boundaries, and sequencing of district elections.  Adoption of the Ordinance is anticipated on April 17, 2018.  All interested parties are invited to attend said hearings and express their views on this matter.

Please note:  The interactive version works much like Google Maps, in that you can zoom in and out, search for an address, and change the base map from streets to satellite imagery to the "Open Streets" map of street-level details.  You can use the check boxes to select the map you wish to view at any given time, or select two maps to overlay them and indentify areas where they differ.

There are three options available:
