Free Community Clean-Up & Disposal Day

Ready to clean out your garage and get rid of the stuff that's been hanging around your house and yard too long?

To encourage property maintenance and beautification, and to assist residents with their clean-up efforts, the City of Porterville will be holding the annual Spring Clean Up Event at the City's Corporation Yard.

When:  Saturday, April 17, 2021, 8 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Where:  City Corporation Yard - 555 N. Prospect Street

Who:  Residents located within the Porterville city limits


  • Greenwaste:  tree limbs, branches, yardwaste (not to exceed 10 feet)
  • Household waste:  household trash, furniture, scrap metal, mattress/ box springs
  • E-Waste:  computers, laptops, monitors, televisions, cell phones, etc.
  • Construction & Demolition:  concrete, dirt, wood

Not Accepted: 

  • Household hazardous waste including batteries, paint, oil, oil filters, flourescent bulbs.  (See below for details)
  • Tires
  • Refrigerators
  • Oversized auto parts (cab, truck bed, etc.)

Clean Up Event Guidelines:

  • A current City of Porterville water/ refuse bill will be required as proof of residency. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Residential customers only.  No business or commercial waste allowed.
  • All metal and wood should be separated for faster unloading.
  • Trailers will be limited to no longer than 10 ft.
  • Participants will be required to unload their own vehicle
  • No children or pets allowed outside of vehicle
  • Social distancing and masks required at all times
