Organic waste (green waste) recycling is a major part of the City’s waste reduction plan. Contamination, even a little bit, has a major negative impact on organic waste recycling, and results in higher processing costs and increased refuse rates. It is important to make sure only allowable materials are placed in your organic waste container.



ALLOWED:

Grass clippings, leaves, weeds, food scraps, tree trimmings less than 4ft in length.



NOT ALLOWED:

Plastic bags, trash, palm fronds, yucca leaves, dirt, sod, or rock.

Containers that are contaminated or overfilled (too heavy or with material sticking out of the container) will not be serviced and may be subject to fines.
