Our dispatchers are asked several times a day, what are examples of emergency calls? Here are examples of what would constitute an emergency or non-emergency call.

Examples of emergency calls: (9-1-1)

• In progress crimes
• House/structure fire
• A person has been shot
• Bank/business robbery
• Burglary in progress or just occurred
• Someone is having a heart attack
• Traffic accident with injuries involved
• Life threatening condition and medical aid is needed

Examples of non-emergency calls: (782-7400)

• Loud party or music
• Parking violations
• Barking dog
• Road information
• My car was towed. How do I get it back?
• The traffic light is broken
• I scraped my knee
• Non-injury traffic accidents
• Time delayed reports with no suspect information
