The Engineering Division, under the direction of City Engineer Javier Sanchez, is a multidisciplinary group whose primary function is to plan, design and oversee the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure improvement projects; to provide technical expertise and support incidental to the planning and development of private enterprise and handle engineering related issues in support of other city departments.

The Engineering Division provides survey information to assist public and private projects as well as geographic data to aid the city's GIS department in the development of citywide mapping services.

The Engineering Division is responsible for enforcement of all applicable codes as they pertain to each phase of public infrastructure inspections.

• Field Inspectors Office hours: Monday-Friday, 8 am to 9 am, and 1 pm to 2 pm
• Field inspection hours: Monday-Friday, 9 am to Noon, and 2 pm to 4 pm
• Inspection requests may be made Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 4 pm; (559) 782-7462

Please note: inspections need to be scheduled one (1) business day in advance of the requested date of inspection.
