
The Transaction and Use Tax Oversight Committee is an independent citizen's oversight committee established by the City Council and charged with monitoring the expenditure of General Fund revenues derived from the Transactions and Use Tax for Public Safety, Police and Fire Protection and the Transactions and Use Tax for Public Safety and Essential City Services.
The committee consists of ten members who are appointed by the City Council to four-year terms. Members must be a resident of Porterville, a business owner or operator.
Members: Jerry Hall (Chairperson), John Simonich (Vice Chairperson), Joshua Sulier (Sercretary), John Billiou, Shawn Byars, Angela Dennis, Robert K. Falls Jr., Margaret Stinson, Rae Dean Strawn, Janice Kovars
Meetings are held yearly, or as needed, City Hall, Conference Room, 291 N. Main Street.
